Day 1 Reykjavik, Day 2 Golden Circle
Day 1: land, check in, walk to the Laugardalslaug pool (kids' area, water slides, 1,330 ISK adult, 205 ISK child). Whales of Iceland at the harbour for the models kids can touch. Early dinner, sleep central.
Day 2: Golden Circle but short. Thingvellir 90 minutes, Geysir 45 (kids love the eruption), Gullfoss 30, then straight to the Secret Lagoon or Gamla Laugin in Fludir — shallow enough for small children, 3,700 ISK. Home to Reykjavik by 7pm. If they are still awake, drive to the Grotta lighthouse to look for the aurora.
Day 3 South Coast, Day 4 horses and home
Day 3: Seljalandsfoss (skip the walk behind if kids are under 6, it is slippery), Skogafoss, then the Lava Show in Vik at 2pm — real molten lava poured behind glass, 6,490 ISK, ends with a Q&A kids love. Sleep in Hella or Hvolsvollur.
Day 4: Icelandic horse farm on the drive back — Fridheimar does horse shows plus tomato lunch, or book a short ride at Solhestar near Selfoss for 8+. Puffin option in summer only: the boat from the Old Harbour to Lundey island, 90 minutes, June-August. Sleep near Keflavik if flying out early.

Is Reynisfjara safe with kids?
No, sneaker waves are unpredictable and lethal. Take them to Diamond Beach at Jokulsarlon or the black beach at Vik village instead — same look, safer.
Are car seats included in rentals?
