Sky Lagoon (ISK 9212, Kopavogur) beats the Blue Lagoon on atmosphere — infinity edge over the North Atlantic, 7-step ritual included. Blue Lagoon (ISK 9826-ISK 14738) is still worth it once for the color and the silica mask, but book 6am or 8pm slots. Myvatn Nature Baths (ISK 6755) is the north's version, half the crowd, better views. Krauma near Reykholt (ISK 5527) uses Europe's highest-flow hot spring and has five pools of different temperatures.
The wild and cheap
Reykjadalur hot river above Hveragerdi is free — 45 minute hike, then you sit in a naturally hot stream. Landbrotalaug on Snaefellsnes fits two people, is free and requires no marketing. Seljavallalaug (free) is an abandoned 1920s pool filled by a hot stream. Grettislaug on the north coast (ISK 983) is two stone tubs facing the sea. Municipal pools in every town cost ISK 983-ISK 1351 and are how Icelanders actually bathe.
