8am: breakfast at Braud og Co (ISK 983 cinnamon roll and coffee). 9am: climb Hallgrimskirkja tower (ISK 1842) for the color-block city view. 10am: walk Skolavordustigur down to Laugavegur, browsing 66 North and Farmers Market. 11:30am: the Settlement Exhibition (ISK 2702), Iceland's honest small museum done right. 1pm: lunch at Icelandic Street Food (ISK 2456 unlimited soup refills, tourist bait but the soup is good). 2:30pm: Harpa concert hall (free to walk through, remarkable interior).
Afternoon to late
3:30pm: Vesturbaejarlaug pool (ISK 1105, an hour with the locals in hot pots). 5pm: coffee and cake at Sandholt bakery (ISK 1228). 7pm: dinner at Matur og Drykkur (ISK 7369 pp, cod head and lamb done properly) or Grandi Mathol food hall (ISK 3071). 9pm: Slippbarinn or Kaldi Bar for craft beer (ISK 1474 pints). 11pm: night walk to Solfar sun voyager sculpture on the waterfront. That's a genuine Reykjavik day, not a bus tour version.
